ABOUT FRANKIE

Frankie Leigh is an Australian glass artist, currently based in the UK.

Frankie has 23 years experience working in the engineering industry, and returned to education in later life. In 2022, Frankie graduated from the University for the Creative Art’s, Farnham with a BA(Hons) in Ceramics & Glass. After graduation Frankie will be developing her glass making and creative practice by partaking in residencies and internships, and intends to study an MA in Glass.

Frankie’s current work focuses on the botanical and the word rejuvenation. She has first hand experience of bush fires in her native Australia and the devastation it has on the landscape and life. Her blown glass objects are a celebration of new life and the beauty that can be seen after such Trauma.

Frankie uses glass to communicate an original story about personal experience, background, memories and ideas. The work is an exploration of hot glass; it’s movement, flow and rhythm.

After graduation Frankie is taking her love of glass further to further and will continue her education with an MA and aiming to work in various studios around the world.
